OTTAWA, April 30, 2024 – Research Canada is thrilled to announce the establishment of the Emerging Leader in Advocacy Award (ELIAA) to recognize the remarkable contributions of emerging advocates in advancing health research and innovation across Canada. This prestigious accolade is an addition to our existing Leadership in Advocacy Award, reaffirming our commitment to fostering advocacy excellence at every level.
“We are excited to introduce the Emerging Leader in Advocacy Award as a testament to the passion and dedication of emerging advocates who are driving positive change in the health research landscape,” said Dr. Stéphanie Michaud, Chair of the Research Canada Leadership in Advocacy Award Selection Committee and President and CEO of BioCanRx. “This award not only recognizes excellence in advocacy but also highlights the importance of cultivating new voices and perspectives in advancing health research and innovation.”
ELIAA recipients will be selected based on their significant contributions to health research advocacy in Canada. Nominators are encouraged to provide evidence of how nominees have made an impact through health research advocacy, including details of past achievements and future advocacy plans.
“It is imperative to recognize and support emerging leaders who are dedicated to advancing health research advocacy in Canada,” said Alison Evans, President and CEO of Research Canada. “The Emerging Leader in Advocacy Award reflects our commitment to nurturing talent and empowering the next generation of advocates to drive meaningful change in our healthcare landscape.”
