Dr. Yvonne Bohr is Associate Professor of clinical developmental psychology, and past director of the LaMarsh Centre for Child and Youth Research at York University. Together with community partners and graduate students, she is committed to identifying innovative, culturally embedded ways to engage Inuit youth in mental health research. Her current CIHR-funded project focuses on the development of mental health e-interventions for Inuit youth at risk for depression. I-SPARX is a youth-led, intergenerational initiative to design computer games that teach cognitive behavioural approaches. A “by the community for the community” intervention in partnership with five Nunavut communities, I-SPARX aims to support wellness and resilience that are grounded in culture.
