Ms. Sue Mack-Klinger is the program head and educator for the pharmacy technician program at Saskatchewan Polytechnic. She completed her Pharmacy, and Bachelor of Science degrees at the University of Saskatchewan and has continued to practice community pharmacy for over 25 years. During her pharmacy practice, she found her greatest fulfillment in counseling patients and teaching students. She continues as a community pharmacist to maintain patient contact and current practice. Past experience includes pharmacy store and divisional management, institutional pharmacy practice and education. Her interest is in health care collaboration, competency training, assessments, professional practice, quality assurance, and work flow efficiency. She is passionate about the role of pharmacy in all practice settings and works on several provincial and national committees for collaborative practices, professional practice, education of pharmacy technicians and pharmacists. Patient care, safety and access to medications guides all her pursuits. Her goal is to ensure advocacy of patients and community. This goal has led her to focus on her strength as an educator of students and patients. Ms. Mack-Klinger has received several awards and nominations for leadership, committee and community contributions. In 2018, she received the Saskatchewan Polytechnic Leadership Award, recognizing her role at work and in the community.
