Kristi Adamo
Dr. Adamo is a Scientist and founding member of the Healthy Active Living and Obesity Research Group at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario Research Institute and is an Associate Professor in Pediatrics and in the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Ottawa. She has a multidisciplinary background that includes a Master’s degree in Physiology from the Department of Human Biology & Nutritional Sciences at the University of Guelph and a Doctorate from the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Medicine, Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine. She holds an Early Researcher Award from the Ministry of Research and Innovation for her work on ‘Tackling Childhood Obesity, starting with MOM’, a CIHR New Investigator Award from the Institute of Human Development, Child and Youth Health and a W. Garfield Weston Foundation Award in Obesity and Reproductive Health. Dr. Adamo’s most successful ‘experiments’ have resulted in the birth of her 2 daughters, Kysia (6) and Mallea (4).
