Distinguished Professor, Biomedical Sciences, University of Windsor and VP Research, St. Joseph’s Health Care London and Scientific Director, Lawson Health Research Institute

Dr. Lisa Porter is a Distinguished Professor of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Windsor, the VP of Research, St. Joseph’s Health Care London and Scientific Director, Lawson Health Research Institute. She is a biomedical researcher who has led her own tri-council and non-profit funded lab for nearly 20 years, successfully bringing in more than $6M in research funding. She has been at the helm of fundraising for health research locally for many years and is on the University Delegates Executive Committee for CIHR. She has sat on dozens of government grant panels, both federal and provincial, in a leadership role. Dr. Porter was also responsible for setting up the marketing and branding for WE-SPARK Health Institute and teaches a course on using community outreach and social media to promote public understanding of research.
